When Eric Lloyd, his family, and entire village are captured and moved to the Alliance of Four Cities his whole life changes. Previously he had been a farmer but now he was forced to be a "Guardian". Before he had been able to act as he wished. Now if he even thinks of doing anything against the rules an electrical impulse is sent throughout his body. This is because of the tiny computer chip implanted into the back of his neck. Although there is no crime, wars, or even childish arguments in these cities Eric finds the imperfections of this perfect society. This is the story of Eric's fight for freedom for himself, his family, and his fellow citizens.

This book is full of action and adventure. It gripped my attention from the very beginning. Because it happens in the future I was a little confused at first, but after I got past the first chapter it was easier to understand. The Alliance is well written and a very exciting book. I would definitely recommend it.
