Twilight by Stephenie Meyers:
Book Review
Twilight by Stephenie Meyers
Twilight, the story of a girl who falls in love with a charming vampire
named Edward, is full of chilling suspense. The exhilarating plot
twists made it nearly impossible for me to stop reading. Meyer's writing
is awesome-simple and concise where it needs to be, and beautifully
eloquent at other times. It has something for everyone. The love story
will enthrall romantics and action lovers will find plenty of violence
to satisfy them.
However, the depressing lack of character depth in the main character,
Bella, disappointed me. Edward, and his fellow vampires are beautifully
developed and full of complexity. However, Bella seems strangely flat
and generic. She seems like a nice enough character, and I admire her
selflessness and courage, but I would really like to get to know her
better.
Despite these drawbacks, Twilight is a beautiful piece of literature.
The descriptiveness and the suspense weave together to create one
exciting, enchanting story that is nearly impossible to stop reading. I
triple-dog-dare you to try and put it down.
