Uglies Uglies by Scott Westerfield

Her whole life Tally had been ugly. She, of course, wasn't the only one. Everyone under the age of 16 was an ugly. Tally had three months before her 16th birthday and couldn't wait to undergo the surgery that would turn her pretty. But when Tally's best friend Shay runs away because she does not want the surgery, Tally is faced with the most important decision of her life. She can turn Shay in and tell the authorities where Shay had been hiding, or she can remain ugly the rest of her life.

This book is full of action and adventure. It constantly was keeping me on the edge of my chair. My favorite part of the book was while Tally was alone in the wilderness, trying to survive.
