Story Creation Fun: How to Write and Create Stories

When I come to your school I give an interactive presentation that explores the fun and exciting world of books, while teaching students how to write and create their own stories using plot, characters, and setting.  If there's time, I'll also read from a few of my books (Presentation time about 45-50 minutes).

Since kindergarten age students sometimes have a hard time sitting through a 45-50 minute presentation, as part of my author school visit I sometimes offer the option of separately visiting with the kindergarten students. During the kindergarten visit I'll read from my books and answer the students and teachers questions. (1-2 visits for about 10-15 minutes each).

Get the students excited

To help the students get the most out of my school visit, introduce students to my recent books during class time a few days or weeks before the visit. Also, ensure that you have plenty of copies of my books in your school library.

Audio/visual needs

Please have the following available and set up on the day of my visit, prior to my arrival:

• LCD computer projector
• White projection screen
• A small table
• Microphone (Only needed for large assemblies)

School visit fees

• $375-$950 (Actual cost depends on number of presentations and travel time)

• $950 plus transportation, room, and meal expenses

Book signings

If you would like me to do a book signing, be sure to order copies of my books in advance for your students and teachers that want my books.
